Root canal treatment

When the nerve of your tooth is inflamed or dead, it can cause a lot of pain. A root canal treatment is then the necessary treatment. This involves removing the nerve and bacteria from your tooth, and then filling the nerve canal again.

If a root canal treatment is not performed immediately, this can lead to inflammation in the jawbone and in the long term even loss of your tooth. When performing a root canal treatment, the bacteria in the canal are removed and the canal is filled up. Any existing inflammation in the jawbone will generally heal afterwards.

Anesthetic & rubber dam during treatment
Many people are afraid of a dental procedure. At Dental Practice Margarida Cardoso we understand that. We will try to put you at ease. In some situations, such as fillings, extractions or tooth extraction, anesthetic provides a good outcome. As a result, you will not experience any pain during a treatment.

We also use a rubber dam (cofferdam) for treatments that require anesthetic. This is a piece of cloth that is applied around the teeth so that it remains clean and dry and you can work neatly.
